MacMillan VAYE is a governance and development professional, a policy analyst, a researcher, and an economic development diplomat with twenty years of hands-on experience in the public sector. He holds a MSc in Development Studies obtained from the Kigali Independent University in Rwanda, and BA in Political Science obtained from the University of Liberia. Currently, he is a candidate for a MSc in Governance.
He has professional certifications in Public Sector Management and Policy, Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation, Policy Analysis and Preparation of Policy Papers, and Data Analysis using Stata. He has a deep and abiding sense of destiny in the future of Africa and esteems the performance of public duties to be amongst the noblest of aims. He is a development economist at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, R.L. (MFDP).
He provides technical support and strategic advice; contributes to the design and formulation of development policies and frameworks that inform evidence-based policy decision-making in government; and advances Liberia’s foreign policy objectives. MacMillan has extensive experience in international affairs and diplomacy, leadership and advocacy, communication and strategies, public sector reforms and policy analysis. His areas of research are governance, sustainable development, political economy, comparative politics, and international relations.
